How Does Your Light Shine …

lighthouse.jpg

On my way to a meeting this morning the song “Shambala”  by Three Dog Night played on the radio.  What a wonderful upbeat and spiritual song to start my day out with!  I love the question, “how does your light shine in the halls of Shambala? I love this question because, it is a great thing to ask. How does our light shine?

Are we lighting the way?

Are we radiant with love?

Are we kind to all or just the ones we feel deserving our kindness?

Do we look for the light in our brothers and sisters even when the ones who seem to be void of light?

Today I want you to ask yourself these questions. Be brutally honest with yourself. If you find that you fall short of where you would like to be, simply resolve to be more aware and to radiate light from yourself and seek light in everyone.  This is not a time to beat yourself up for where you are, this is a time to create awareness and move forward!

You are light, you are love and if you really look, you will see that in your self and in everyone who comes in and out of your life.

Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain
With the rain in Shambala
Wash away my sorrow, wash away my shame
With the rain in ShambalaAh, ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Everyone is helpful, everyone is kind
On the road to Shambala
Everyone is lucky, everyone is so kind
On the road to Shambala

How does your light shine, in the halls of Shambala
I can tell my sister by the flowers in her eyes
On the road to Shambala
I can tell my brother by the flowers in his eyes
On the road to Shambala

How does your light shine, in the halls of Shambala

Note: Shambhala (Tib. bde ‘byung) is a Sanskrit term meaning “place of peace/tranquility/happiness”  It is also thought to be an actual place hidden in the Himalayas. People and countries have even launched explorations to fine Shambhala. Of course the truth is that it is a place that was always with them.

  4. Hi Mark how are you ???!!!

I would say my light has a good watt range lol…. It is quite interesting how we can tell when someone’s light is going dim. . . . I can actually feel the drainage of energy from them…. When I see people like this, I wish I could just breathe a pinch of “light” into thier life. Some of these people would deny that breath but….

Have a wonderful weekend and keep on shinning!!! :)

  5. Yes the more deep the experience within, the more light that is allowed to shine without. Thanks for the meaning of Shambhala. Shambha is Peace….Shambho…is Shiva.

  6. I’m sure I’ve heard this song, but at the moment I can’t dredge up the tune from my memory. Thanks for posting the lyrics. :) In answer to your questions: I do think that I radiate light, even when I’m in a bad mood. No matter what emotional state I’m in or how loving (or not) I may be feeling at the moment I, and everyone else, always radiate the light of Divinity. Afterall, we are all God. What I try to do in my daily life it to keep this awareness fully conscious. The more mindfully conscious I am about my own and everyone and everything else’s Divinity the more likely I am to be patient, kind, loving, etc. with others as well as myself.

    Bright Blessings!
    Sarah

  8. I came from a people person kind of family, my grandmother who was and is an influential heavy weight in my arena, taught me the value of the inner fuel that is consumed in the sharing of oneself in a gathering of energy in a rather oblique world.
Occassionally it is not until the end of a trade show that I get a chance to mingle with the other vendors. In the years I have been doing this I have accumulated memories, sometimes faces, some times names, words or a particular experience. The very first one was crucial to my continuing on this road. I had a met couple who made extraordinary jewelry and I can remember him turning to his wife and saying as he spoke of me, she has an aurora around her, can you see and feel it. His wife responded yes I do she will go far with that. It reminded me of why I am here and why I was sent to reach out and touch as many as possible in one way or another. I believe we all have that aurora, it is that some of us do not know what to do with the energy.
One of my dearest friends said to me, now is not the time for learning but for reaping the benefits of our years of travel. I completely disagree, life is always an ongoing journey packed filled with lessons.
Life is all about coming to terms with the path you have been placed on, I find it frightening at times, because I feel like clay in the hands of God, still being transformed, when sometimes I would prefer to hide under the rock. When the drape of darkness opens clarity takes its place and I realize that I am on the destined path and on this path it knows only that we are one as souls in a troubled world.
I love the song, music is an incredible communicator of all emotions.

  9. Lighthouses are a wonderful symbol for how life expeirence is itself a series of beacons which lead each of us to new levels of self-understanding. The Shambala you discuss reminds me of a book in James Redfield’s series about the Celestine Prophecy. It offers its own beams of light worth reading for pleasure and self-growth.

You are a beautiful beacon of light, you touch and help so many! Your wattage is up there!
True, some people seem to have the ability to zap our energy. These people in many ways may be our greatest teachers, they are in our life to help us learn. No one has the ability to suck the energy away from us without our consent.
Kinda like the vampire lore which states you must invite the vampire into your home for he would never cross the threshold uninvited because his powers would not work. Hmm, you may have inspired a post, thanks. Thanks for your thoughts and your lights.

Love your thoughts. Yes we are all devine and because of our divinity we do shine. The key is awareness for that is what enables us to fully shine without a shroud. Thanks for your thoughts!

In my blogging I also have found the people from India to be the most sensitive happy and radiating (exceptions included of course. I think you are radiating as well)
